1.About these terms

“We”, “us” and “Online First Aid” refer to the operator of onlinefirstaid.co.nz. “You” refers to the business or individual using the Service. We may update these terms from time to time; the current version always applies, and the “last updated” date above shows when it last changed. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated terms.

2.What we provide

The Service helps a workplace understand and work towards its first aid needs. Depending on what you sign up for, it may include:

The assessment and recommendations are general guidance based on the information you give us. They are a helpful starting point, not a legal determination of your obligations.

3.Your responsibilities

4.Accounts & security

You must keep your login details secure and are responsible for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you think your account has been accessed without permission. You must be at least 18 to create an account and act on behalf of a workplace.

5.Fees, payment & refunds

Prices are shown before you purchase and are in New Zealand dollars, exclusive of GST unless stated otherwise. Some items are one-off (for example, a practical review or a re-review) and some may recur (for example, an annual renewal). Payment is due at the time of purchase through our payment provider. Because training and assessment content is delivered digitally and consumed as you go, fees are generally non-refundable once the relevant service has been accessed or completed, except where a refund is required by the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or other applicable law. If something has gone wrong, contact us and we’ll work with you in good faith.

6.Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the Service. In particular, don’t: share your login or course access with people it wasn’t bought for; copy, resell or redistribute our content; attempt to disrupt, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to the Service; or use it for anything unlawful. Each training place is for one nominated responder.

7.Intellectual property

All content in the Service — including the assessment logic, training modules, videos, images, checklists and documents — is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other laws. You’re given a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use it for your own workplace’s first aid readiness. Any documents we generate for you (such as your checklist or records) are yours to keep and use for that purpose.

8.Availability & changes

We aim to keep the Service available and up to date, but we don’t guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and we may update, improve or change features over time. We may suspend access for maintenance or where these terms are breached. First aid guidance can change; we make reasonable efforts to keep content current but you should always follow the most recent advice from official sources such as the New Zealand Resuscitation Council and emergency services.

9.Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Service is provided “as is”. We are not liable for any injury, loss or damage arising from reliance on the Service, from any first aid given or not given, or from any decision about whether your workplace meets its legal obligations — these remain your responsibility. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986 that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability cannot be excluded but can be limited, it is limited to the amount you paid us for the relevant service.

10.Privacy

How we collect and handle personal information is set out in our Privacy Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11.Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and the New Zealand courts have jurisdiction over any dispute. Before taking any formal step, please contact us first so we can try to sort things out directly.
